On 8 December 2017 an event called ‘Kuier om die Kole’ was hosted by Living Links Wellness at the Greenhills Hall in Randfontein. The event was aimed at offering the local community an opportunity to host their end-of-year functions for friends or colleagues. This evening included entertainment from a local artist, Franna, entertainment for the children and everything needed to have a barbecue.

Lettie Scholtz Gerber van Vriendskaptuiste het Saterdag, 14 Oktober haar 95e verjaarsdag saam met familie gevier. Dié supervrou het 17 kinders, waarvan 11 nog lewe. Die oudste is 72 en die jongste 60. Dit beteken dat sy nagenoeg 12 jaar van haar lewe swanger was.
Lerato Morapelo was crowned new Senior Miss Mohlakeng 2017 in the Mohlakeng Ramosa Hall recently. Karabo Mosime was first princess and Gracious Mojobe second princess. Boitumelo Tserema, a Grade 7 Malerato Primary School learner was Junior Miss Mohlakeng 2017, with the petite Lesego Selogile, a Grade 2 Venterspost Primary School learner the second princess and Precious Sethebe, Grade 8 learner from AB Phokompe High School the first princess.

Claudette se talent is opvallend en die Herald het besluit om haar oor haar skilderye en verftegnieke uit te vra. Haar grootste droom is om voltyds te skilder, en sy wil gou weer haar kunswerke uitstal.

On Saturday, 30 September, crowds of residents and friends went to Sungate Farms, to join the festivities and celebrate their Spring Adventure Run for their 22nd birthday. The morning started off with the 10km run, followed by a 5km run. Kurt Berndt, who ran the 10km, said it was great, just very hot.
Young and old and even a number of dogs made it through the colour stations just to be covered in coloured powder from head to toe at this year’s fun Color Run™ in Greenhills on Saturday, 16 September. The race is said to be the happiest 5km run of one’s life during which free-spirited people roam the streets. This year’s theme was ‘Superhero Tour’ and more than 2 200 people participated.
