Juanita Venter se liefde vir kinders en kook was haar inspirasie om met die Petite Chef Kookskool vir Kinders te begin. Die oulike kookskool het slegs vier weke gelede oopgemaak en Juanita spog reeds met nagenoeg 70 kinders in verskeie klasse in haar kookskool.
Die versamelgogga het vir Peet Wessels en sy vrou, Elize van Loumarina in 1980 gebyt toe hulle hul eerste Chevrolet-bakkie in die Kaap gekoop het. Die oudste bakkie wat hy op die oomblik besit is ‘n 1926-model en hul nuutste bakkie dateer uit 1977.

Tristan se boetie, Paul, gaan ook saam met sy ouers om vir Tristan te ondersteun.
Patients in the children’s ward at Life Robinson Private Hospital could not contain their excitement when they finally met their hero, Rusty the Rhino on Thursday, 23 August. He paid the little patients a visit to help them get better. Some were even lucky enough to have a photo taken with their idol, while others managed to get a hug from him. Rusty also encouraged the patients to eat nutritional food.
Betesda Ministries held its 16th Prayer Rally on Sunday, 19 August to pray for Randfontein. The town came together in prayer during the weekend in hope to rid Randfontein of all things dark and evil. Partygoers of all sorts braved a chilly weekend (Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 August) to support the first annual Women in Music Festival held at Mohlakeng’s Patrick ‘Ace’ Ntsoelengoe Stadium. Ms Jones Sounds, DJ Ms Jones, the municipality and national artists and DJs were in control of proceedings and put on a show not soon to be forgotten. The event was for a good cause as proceeds from the gig went towards buying toiletries and sanitary towels for girl learners from disadvantaged families in Rand West City.

The Mi Yehenraine Riding School in Loumarina held a two-day fundraising event for a good cause on Saturday, 4 and Sunday, 5 August. The funds raised are to be used for rehabilitating the abused and neglected horses that have been adopted by the riding school, and at the same time, to help abused and neglected children by giving them therapeutic horse riding lessons. *None of the girls pictured were/ have been abused or neglected.
