The sleepless nights finally ended for Randfontein High School’s (RHS) 2017 Grade 12 learners on Friday morning (5 January) when they received their final results.

Excited yet nervous learners gathered in the school’s newly decorated cafeteria and got their results from 8am onwards. Congratulations were exchanged all around.

The RHS matrics once again did extremely well, boasting a record of reaching their ultimate goal spanning over a decade.

Jason Fischer, Deputy Principal of RHS, said they owe this to their digital in-class teaching methods, and the fact that the teachers are trained in digital education.

“After this decade of achievements, this year’s Grade 12s will be challenged to keep up the record.” The school is very proud of its learners, and the dedication and focus they put into excelling,” Fischer said.

The Herald spoke to Lurhan Maraba, who excelled in all his subjects.

“I could not sleep last night. I feel very excited and relieved. All my hard work paid off, but it was a roller-coaster ride.”

Lurhan wishes to study medicine and eventually specialise in neurology.

Agisang Sibanda is proud of himself and his achievements.

Agisang Sibanda, who outdid himself, was smiling from ear to ear. He wants to pursue a career in education.

When asked what he was going to do today, he said, “Paint the town red”.

Despite undergoing renovations last year, RHS made Randfontein proud once again.
