A woman narrowly escaped death on the morning of 18 May, when the vehicle she was travelling in collided with a train at a crossing near the Millsite railway station, just off the R41 Randfontein Road. The incident took place at about 11.53am.

Nick Dollman, the Netcare 911 spokesperson, said that paramedics were the first advanced life support to arrive at the scene and worked together with the Mogale City Provincial ambulance service to treat and extricate the female driver of the car.

She was in a stable condition and had sustained mild to moderate injuries,” said Dollman.

He said further that she was the only person injured in the incident and was transported by the provincial ambulance service to hospital for further medical care.

The incident was also attended to by the Mogale Fire and Rescue Service and the police.
