According to Warrant Officer Raymond Sebanyane, the Westonaria Police spokesperson, Constables Mthiyane and Mavhungu were on patrol in Glenharvie when they received a ‘be on the look-out’ alert for a hijacked truck via the police radio communication system.

“While patrolling, they spotted a truck with the same description. The two officers acted swiftly and moved in on the truck and stopped it. They then conducted a preliminary investigation,” Sebanyane said.

“In the truck they found only the driver. When they asked him for the name of the company he works for, his reply was ‘I am hired by unknown people to drive the truck’.”

It’s said the truck was reported hijacked between Koster and Derby in the North West Province. Photo submitted.

Sebanyane said that was his only explanation. According to Sebanyane the truck was reported hijacked between Koster and Derby in the North West Province. As a result the driver was arrested for being in possession of a hijacked truck.
