The Westonaria Police confirmed on Monday that the 64-year-old elderly woman who was attacked in her home on a farm on the Kalbasfontein road between Fochville and Carletonville last Friday, 10 March was brutally tortured with an electric drill.

Sergeant Audrey Safara from the Westonaria Police added they are investigating the case.
According to her, an electric drill was used on the soles of her feet, her ribs were broken and she had various open stab wounds on her arms. Those are just some of the injuries known at this stage.
“We suspect that more or less three criminals were involved.”
She further said they have not caught any suspects at this stage and that four cellphones, a laptop and a firearm were stolen. She also mentioned they found one dead dog, but they do not, at this stage, know whether the suspects killed it.
The woman’s bakkie was found on the road and she was attacked in her home.
“I am not sure about the woman’s condition, she is still in hospital. I am going to go see her.” Safara said.
Safara added the woman lived alone.
Russel Meiring, the ER24 spokesperson, said when they arrived on the scene, they found the woman lying in a pool of blood. Meiring said she had a serious head injury, lacerations to her wrist and puncture wounds on her feet. “Paramedics immediately began their treatment of the patient, as well as providing her with several advanced life support interventions,” said Meiring. She was rushed to the Vereeniging Mediclinic for further treatment.
The 64-year-old woman has since been identified on social media as well as by the Democratic Alliance as Nicci Simpson.
