Hy is tans in die neonatale intensiewesorgeenheid (NISE) in Life Robinson Hospitaal.

“We wish to assure the van Vollenhoven family as well as the local community that Life Robinson Hospital prides itself in providing the best quality care to all our patients. We consult with all private maternity patients (those not on a medical aid) before completing the admission process, outlining the terms, conditions and risks to ensure they are informed and prepared for any circumstance which may arise during pregnancy or after birth.

“Unfortunately challenges may arise, such as new born babies requiring additional medical care after complication with the birth. In the case of the van Vollenhoven baby, the hospital has assisted the family with submitting their application to register their baby on a medical aid scheme.

“We are awaiting confirmation of approval from the medical scheme. In the meantime, baby van Vollenhoven will continue to receive the best possible care in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.”
